The Poplar Lane Brewbar is the first in Christchurch and has opened with a hiss and a roar following in the footsteps of five earlier and much-loved Mac’s Brewbars in Auckland, Wellington and Nelson.

 

Poplar Lane Brewbar is no ordinary city bar, taking the finest elements from each of the brewbars before it and adding some new quirkiness. Mac’s Poplar Lane is a superb venue able to host up to 150 guests, at peak times, across the lounge and sunny courtyard area.

 

Owned and operated by Stuart and Carol Spittle with Ben, Tania and a team of eclectic  staff, Poplar Lane became a reality through the opportunity created when the previous Red Jacks business came on the market. In partnership with Lion Nathan and the Mac’s Brewery, the new bar was reborn in just a week and is set to become a focal point of the central city and the Poplar Lane precinct.

 

The Poplar Lane Brewbar will continue the popular personality established by the first Mac’s Brewbars in celebration of the honest craft of natural brewing with a full range of Mac’s beers available on tap including seasonal releases.

 

All tap beers are served at the perfect temperature and with the perfect pour to ensure the utmost enjoyment of these fine brews. Don’t hesitate to ask one of the friendly bar tenders or waiters to match a beer with your choice from a menu rich with options from easy share platters through to hearty mains or you can enjoy a taste of all the beers with a Mac’s sampler.
