Located in the historical Victorian Rose building on Trafalgar Street, Mac’s is thrilled to open the doors to the South Island’s first fully fledged Mac’s Brewbar, The Vic Brewbar.

 

In true Mac’s style the Victorian Rose building has undergone a modern refurbishment with the new look brewbar a collaboration between the artistic talents of creative agency Shine and Kirsty Mitchell of Veneer Design. Mac’s brewbars are about doing things a little bit differently, and The Vic promises to be just that – different.

 

While standing at the polished concrete top and crafted split timber-front bar pondering your next Mac’s beer choice, take a minute to look around and soak up some of the amazing Mac’s atmosphere. From random old picture frames encasing different Mac’s images, cupboards depicting messages of the Mac’s history and stories to the brewing process painted on the walls, you will never run out of things to read or use as conversation starters! There is an eclectic old versus new mix of bar stools and furniture and even a small hideaway snug fitted out with traditional furniture and fittings for those looking for a quieter getaway.

 

With eight beer taps pouring the entire Mac’s craft range, people can be sure that they will find the perfect Mac’s beer to suit their mood and taste. Each and every beer will be served just right - perfect temperature, perfect pour and perfect taste every time.

 

Leading Chefs Ian McLeod and Amber Bradley have created a menu that is rich with options and Mac’s inspired creations such as the famous Mac’s beer battered fish and chips, the Vic Brewbar gourmet burger or for those with a sweet tooth there are some unique Mac’s inspired desserts. The menu also boasts an amazing selection of prime rib beef steaks, with one goal in mind, to serve you a steak so tender you won’t even need to use a steak knife - perfect to enjoy whilst listening to live Jazz every Tuesday night.

 

This new addition looks set to bring ‘The Vic’ as it is affectionately known, back to its glory days as the place to meet for a pint or two in Nelson.
