THE APPLE OF MAC’S EYE THIS SUMMER
Introducing the latest addition to our Mac's family - Isaac's Cider
23 November 2009
Just as the apple fell down and hit Isaac Newton square on the head, Mac’s was hit with an equally splendid flash of inspiration – a refreshing new cider just in time for summer, offering an alternative option for those looking for a change.
Nothing says summer quite like Isaac's Cider. With New Zealand grown apples sourced from the finest orchards, it is as naturally uplifting as a clear summer's day. Light and crisp, Isaac’s Cider is a perfect drop, just the way nature intended, with the fresh flavour of apples.
And we've got lots of Mac's Isaac's Cider to give away - click here to find out how you can get some.

24 August 2009
The Poplar Lane Brewbar is the first of its kind in Christchurch and follows in the footsteps of its five much-loved Mac’s Brewbar siblings in Auckland, Wellington and Nelson. The Poplar Lane Brewbar will continue the eccentric personality established by the first Mac’s Brewbars in celebration of the honest craft of natural brewing with a full range of Mac’s beers available on tap including seasonal releases.
Introducing Mac’s Solstice, Limited Release Winter Beer
30 June 2009
Welcome to Winter 2009, a wake-up call for those of us lulled into a false sense of security by a brilliant summer. And of course the perfect excuse for over-eating and taking up a draft hobby.
Here at Mac's our own idle moments have been filled with a great deal of spectulation of the subject a true winter beer. we assembled a few theories on the matter, agreed on the ones merchandised by whoever shouted loudest at the time and then retired to the shed to see if we could make something of it. And did we succeed? well obviously we did or we wouldn't be cluttering up your inbox like this.
Mac's Solstice is a five malt beer, fermented from a mix of Pale malt, Vienna malt, caramalt, Dark Crystal and Chocolate malt. The Hop component comes from southern Cross and Fuggles, while Horopito adds some mouth-warming clove and pepper aromas.
The result is mightily easy to drink with a hint of bitterness to stiffen the spine, but the colour is so rich you have to see it to believe it. Which leads us to the only place where you stand a better than average chance of sighting one:Get down to the Brewbar adjacent to you, select something comforting from the menu and order a Mac's Solstice or two to wash it gently down. It had us wishing for a bit more miserable weather.
